Ricks Cafe is a restaurant and bar in Negril Jamaica on West End Road near the Negril Lighthouse. Negril is of course the location of Jamaica's seven mile beach. The west central city is the location of its famous white sand coral-formed Seven Mile Beach.
Ricks Cafe is named for the famed Bogie hang-out in the B&W classic movie Casablanca. "Here's looking at you kid", means more than it did in Bogart's day what with clothing optional beaches where couples are only wearing a smile. But a smile is just a smile.
In all fairness to Rick's Cafe the sights there are fully clothed in the cultural traditions of an Island history. Visitors to Ricks Cafe will find cliff divers, fire eaters, outdoor entertainment and a view of Jamaica's breathtaking sunsets. There's more for the hungry tourist at Rick's Cafe than rum and shows. It's a restaurant after all!

Ricks Cafe is the sort of place that tourists rather than locals visit. That is a given in any tourist town. A dichotomy exists which is understandable. The food at Ricks Cafe is expensive and the reggae and rock aren't the usual background music for fine dining. Still, given that much of the crowd is young and in love, Ricks Cafe is probably the best ambiance for them.
For those who are still sober enough to care about the food, it is largely Cajun. At Ricks Cafe the fish is fresh. Red snapper, lobster, and grouper are the surf side of the menu and turf--steaks--are also available. Side dishes of the blackened kind round out the menu.
Rick's Cafe is really the best sort of place for young honeymooners who may not want to venture far from tourist locations like Sandals and Beaches Resorts in a strange country--especially at night when alcohol is involved. Casual dress is appropriate, which is not the case at some of the resort restaurants that have a dress code. Those may be a little stuffy for the twenty something crowd and may be intended for formal wedding party dinners.
